   Voltage regulator 14V-3FHVSP-30A-AX-KS-LI is a great replacement for the original Piaggio Beverly regulator. Namely, the original regulator on the Piaggio Beverly has a parallel type of regulation and as such loads the stator winding 100%. A cheaper parallel mosfet regulator may heat up less, but it will still maximally load the stator winding of the generator, so it is better to choose a series type regulator that will load the generator only with consumption (which is always less than 100% of the generator's capacity).

   The new regulator probably does not fit in the same place and when replacing it, it is necessary to make additional operations (make another way of fastening and solve the connection to the installation). You must not mount the regulator in a place where it is hit by water, stones and mud from the wheels or hot air. Filling the regulator with dirt leads to overheating of the regulator, shutdown due to overheating, bad charging of the battery and finally failure of the regulator and battery.

 

   The expected charging voltage should be 14.15 to 14.3VDC. If the voltage achieved is lower, it is necessary to find where the voltage loss occurs using the instruction. The minimum battery charging voltage that ensures a full battery is 13.9VDC. The regulator has a red LED on it that lights up when it failed to reach the set voltage on its terminals.
