The 14V-3FHVSP-30A-AX-KS-LI voltage regulator has proven extremely reliable on the KLE500. The battery voltage regulation is very stable and independent of the engine speed. In addition, the most important characteristic of the regulator is that it reduces the unnecessary load on the stator, i.e. its heating due to the controlled series regulation. The current from the stator is equal to the consumption current increased by the charging current of the accumulator.    The new regulator fits in the same place, but when replacing it, it is necessary to make additional operations (move one relay, make a new method of fastening and resolve the connection of the connector).

 

    Wire connection:

 

• White-red - +12V -> blue (SPER)
• Black - mass -> yellow/green (SPER)
• Brown - ingintion+ -> white (SPER)
• 3 yellow - AC*3 -> brown, black and gray (SPER)

 

   For the KLE500 model, which automatically turns on the light after switching on, the behavior changes to the extent that after the ignition is turned on, the lights work, and when the machine is started, they turn off while the electric starter is working.

 

   Expected charging voltage is 14.15 to 14.3VDC. If the voltage is lower, it is necessary to find where the voltage loss occurs using the instruction. The minimum battery charging voltage that ensures a full battery is 13.9VDC. The regulator has a built-in LED that lights up if the regulator failed to reach the voltage on its connections, but also when the engine is not running with the ignition switch + switched on in models with automatic lighting.
