The 14V-3F-15A-A-LI voltage regulator/rectifier has proven extremely reliable on the BMW F650. The battery voltage regulation is very stable and independent of the engine speed. In addition, the most important characteristic of the regulator is that it reduces the unnecessary load on the stator, i.e. its heating due to the controlled series regulation.    The new regulator will probably not fit in the same place, and when replacing it, it is necessary to do additional operations (create a new fixture and solve the connection of wires).

 

   The expected charging voltage with this regulator is 14.15 to 14.3VDC. If the voltage is lower, it is necessary to find the reason for the loss of voltage using the instructions. The minimum voltage for good battery charging is 13.9VDC. The regulator has a red LED that lights up when the regulator does not reach the required voltage on its outputs.
